Thank you, Gene. It’s a town full of resilient people. The majestic mountains are not going anywhere and I’m confident that Jasper’s people will remain, rebuild, and re-establish the town I love!
I had forgotten you lived in Jasper as a tyke. Thank you for this story! I live in Edmonton now and have acquaintances in Jasper that have lost everything. Last summer my niece lost her home in wild fires in West Kelowna. Always care!
This was unopened at the bottom of my inbox. I had no idea it would be such a personal story. Very well done, and very sad too. (By the way, are you HS class of 77?)
Great story, Paul. Excellently written.
Thoughts and prayers for Jasper, the people and the community they had... and will have again.
Gene

Such a terrible tragedy...
Indeed, Michael. I’m hoping that support to everyone affected will continue long after the headlines fade.

Well, it was a few lifetimes ago since I was a tyke, so I’ll forgive your forgetfulness. 😂
It’s so tragic that we now all have family or friends who have lost homes in wildfires.

Thanks for your kind comment, Betty. I was Class of ‘78. Graduated from KSS in Kelowna, BC.
And me, 1977, Olympia (WA) High School. I was close!
You were! Both in grad year and geographically!
