When did you last think about the amazing times we live in?
Everything from apps to appliances are becoming more intelligent.
They’ll soon be talking to each other more than to us.
The good news is you won’t have to remember everything you wanted to do to make your Valentine’s Day stay-at-home date night extra special for your special someone.
Your calendar will order flowers from your favourite florist and remind your fridge app that the big day is approaching. Your fridge app will order ingredients and let the wine cooler app know what’s on the menu and it will ensure that the right bottle is available at the right temperature when the sun sets, the candles are lit, and your phone has started playing romantic music through your sound system at just the right volume to set the tone for your perfect evening.
Technology will continue to blow our minds as AI-driven machines start developing their own improvements and upgrades at speeds we humans will hardly be able to keep up with.
Have you considered what this might mean for the world of hospitality?
As it becomes harder for us to comprehend the rate of change technology allows us, the industry will still be all about human connection and personal interaction.
Why do we try to program the behaviour of people and create machines and robots that are programmed to try to behave like people?
Machines are machines. They have no emotions. They have no feelings. They have no empathy.
Let’s embrace technology and in hotels, restaurants, travel, and tourism, but let’s also embrace the personalities that make our industry so special.
They’re people that care about people. Let’s encourage, empower, and trust them to show how caring customer service is the biggest differentiator a hospitality business can have.

Always Care
